93 Points | Stephen Tanzer's IWC - December 2008

Vivid ruby color. Very rich on the nose, displaying ripe dark berry, cherry, smoky Indian spices and a subtle vanilla quality. Fleshy, sweet and open-knit, with seductive blackberry and cherry-vanilla flavors and very soft tannins. Powerful, deeply concentrated and drinking very well right now. Here's a 2003 that shows the power of the vintage, but without any roasted character or excess weight. I rated this 93 points on release.
