($44) Deep red. Meaty, powerful and deep on the nose, conveying a sense of great ripeness and power; notes of dark, roasted berries and grilled meat. Rich and thick in the mouth, with dense blackberry and plum compote flavors. This is unctuous to the point of oily, and has 2003 written all over it. But there is also good energy and focus for such an outsized wine.
