About Chateau Cheval Blanc
In 1998, the Fourcaud-Laussacs family sold Chateau Cheval Blanc to Albert Frere and Bernard Arnaut, but not before they stamped an indelible seal of quality on this St. Emilion estate. Today its stellar reputation continues, bolstered by the hard work of Pierre Lurton, also of Chateau d'Yquem.
2005 Chateau Cheval Blanc Le Petit Cheval Saint-Emilion
Producer: Chateau Cheval Blanc
Style: Red Wine
Grape Type: Bordeaux Blend
Origin: France
Region: Bordeaux
Appellation: Saint Emilion
87-89 Points | International Wine Cellar , May/June 2006
(55% merlot and 45% cabernet franc) Good deep red-ruby color. Currant, smoke and chocolate on the nose, with hints of shoe polish and licorice. Juicy and lively in the mouth, with firm acidity and a solid tannic spine. A bit youthfully austere today, but finishes with noteworthy persistence. Very promising for this second wine.
