My Quest for Economical Bubbly

I have a real weakness for bubbly. If my finances allowed, I'd have a fridge full of the highest quality Champagne. Alas, that's not the case. I have to find more economical alternatives to quench my thirst. This Cremant d'Alsace is reasonably priced & delicious. It's a keeper!

I've had this on three or four occasions and always found it enjoyable. Beautiful salmon color, with lots of bubbles that rise and rise and rise in a hypnotic way. Crisp, light red fruit and a slightly creamy mouthfeel (due to all the bubbles), this is good with a pretty wide range of lighter foods or by itself. I will be giving this as a Christmas gift to some of my more "peripheral" friends this year. Nice but won't break the bank.

I love a good champagne but also love a deal... I picked up a bottle of this out of curiosity. What a find! A light, refreshing, truly yummy strawberry and cream mouse taste of summer - perfect with poached or grilled salmon salad with dill, cucumbers and roquefort.
