($27; a 41/40/19 blend) Bright ruby. Broad, smoky and fresh on the nose, with bright red berry and cherry aromas tinged by dried flowers and fresh herbs. Riper on the palate, showing a blackberry quality, with good sweetness and a supple, lightly tannic texture. Long, juicy and sweet on the finish, the silky tannins woven into the fruit and seeming to melt away on the back. This drinks well right now.

This wine was a suprise. It had a much more interesting flavor than I had expected. I catch myself thinking about it often.
