($110) Saturated ruby. Room-filling aromas of strawberry preserves, raspberry, kirsch, Asian spices and floral oils. Densely packed red and dark berry flavors are framed by supple tannins but seem to overwhelm them, with a sweet vanilla bean quality adding further complexity. Finishes with outstanding depth, precision and length, leaving palate-staining raspberry in its wake. What the hell do you serve this with, and does it matter?
