About Bonny Doon Vineyard
Iconoclast Randall Grahm made his name as one of the original Rhône Rangers in California. When he purchased land in the Santa Cruz Mountains in the early ‘80s his dream was actually to develop great American Pinot Noir. This feat temporarily eluded him, but what he developed was a knack for lesser-grown, Mediterranean varieties.
88 Points | Stephen Tanzer's IWC - September/October 2006
Full medium ruby. Black cherry, cassis, nutty oak, meat, dried herbs, tar and black walnut on the nose. Then creamy-sweet, supple and primary in the mouth, with an enticing, pliant flavor of black cherry. Finishes with substantial dusty tannins but plenty of supporting fruit.
