About Bonny Doon Vineyard
Iconoclast Randall Grahm made his name as one of the original Rhône Rangers in California. When he purchased land in the Santa Cruz Mountains in the early ‘80s his dream was actually to develop great American Pinot Noir. This feat temporarily eluded him, but what he developed was a knack for lesser-grown, Mediterranean varieties.

($18) Ruby-red. Slightly reduced aromas of dark cherry, licorice and game. Sweet and creamy on entry, then quite firm-edged in the middle, with a distinctly tannic edge to the berry and herbal flavors. I marked this down as the tannins turned a bit gritty and dry with aeration.
