88 Points | Stephen Tanzer's IWC - July/August 2009

($17; 80% tempranillo, 15% mazuelo and 5% graciano) Bright red. Smoky cherry and red berry aromas are complemented by notes of vanilla and cola. Chewy and dry, offering sweet red fruit flavors and dusty tannins, complemented by a late note of tobacco. Very traditional Rioja, with dried fruit qualities, strong finishing oak and good persistence.
