90 Points | Stephen Tanzer's IWC - September/October 2009

($30; a blend of grenache with carignan, syrah, merlot and cabernet) Bright ruby color. Lively aromas of raspberry, candied cherry, rose and singed orange, with a bright mineral underpinning. Lively red berry flavors gain richness with air and take a turn to bitter cherry and black raspberry, with fine-grained tannins and smoky minerals adding spine and grip. I'd give this wine a few more years in the bottle to unwind just a bit more.
