Mariano Garcia is the former longtime winemaker at Vega Sicilia, and at Bodegas Aalto, he makes high-extract wines with strong oak tones and flamboyant fruit. This was Garcia's first project in Ribera del Duero project since he moved on from Vega Sicilia. But the style here is much more modern. The exotic, forward nature of these wines ensures early appeal. The PS bottling comes from very old vines -- over 60 years of age.
