89(+?) Points | International Wine Cellar , November/December 2006

($39; the crop level here was just 17 hectoliters per hectare, according to Deiss) Ruby-red, brighter than the 2003. Blueberry, blackberry, smoke, violet, mint and licorice on the nose, with a whiff of oxidative character that dissipated with air. Dense but juicy, with youthfully brutal flavors of almost Cote de Nuits-like black fruits and violet. This is clearly in an awkward stage today, and got better and better-not to mention fresher-with aeration. Finishes with huge, slightly gritty tannins that coat the front teeth. The high altitude of these vines explains the wine's firm acidity, notes Deiss.
