20% Merlot. Leading with intense, blackberry, plum and coffee aromas, this very ripe but well-balanced bottling surprises with its almost claret-like structure, and, while showing up with typical Cabernet Franc toughness at the finish, it also conveys a wholly convincing sense of fruit. It is among the more complex wines of its class, and its emerging elements of rich oak, cola and loamy soil give rise to expectations for further interest when it reaches maturity in five to eight years.
Good full red. Exhilarating floral aromas of blueberry, licorice and cinnamon complicated by leather and earth. Juicy, sweet and lively, with an intense flavor of allspice and terrific lift. Elegantly styled and very fresh on the lingering aftertaste.
