About Maison Chapoutier
Maison Chapoutier, the first négociant and producer to mark their bottlings with braille, was established in 1879 by Polydor Chapoutier. The business has remained family owned since then and is now run by Michel Chapoutier. His hands off approach to winemaking has lead to a resurgence in quality at Maison Chapoutier, which now produces some of the finest wines in the Rhone region of France.

($58) Saturated purple. Potent blackberry and blueberry flavors are complicated by smoky underbrush, sandalwood and floral oils. Impressively concentrated dark fruit liqueur flavors convey an impressively sappy personality, picking up velvety tannins on the long, sweet finish. Pretty remarkable Crozes-and this might actually be drinkable soon after release.
