($28) Bright ruby. Exotic, floral-dominated bouquet evokes blackberry, kirsch, cured tobacco and fruitcake. Silky-smooth in texture, offering bright red and dark fruit flavors, slow-building mocha and candied licorice character, and supple tannins. Impressively sweet but precise on the finish, with the licorice quality repeating. This boasts striking energy and clarity.

Velvety structure with black fruit, but heavy on the back end...hot, acidic and plenty of alchohol. Needs to mellow out.
