88 Points | International Wine Cellar , March/April 2007

($30; fermented in old barrels with no skin contact) Aromas of dried apricot, peach, hazelnut, cardamom and nutmeg. Round, broad and rich, with subtle, mellow flavors of peach, hazelnut and gingery spices. Quite silky on the back end. Made in a more oxidative manner-but with no malolactic fermentation-than the fruitier 2004, notes winemaker Adi Badenhorst. A very limited release, with just a thousand bottles made. Does it have enough verve?
