Bright ruby-red. Aromas and flavors of black raspberry, coffee, smoke and red licorice, with a slightly high-toned briary quality. Then sweet, dense and superripe, with a creamy, seamless texture and impressive depth to the middle palate. Liqueur-like yet not at all heavy. Finishes with substantial chewy tannins and noteworthy length.

By Spearfisher, September 05, 2008 Very impressive (2005). This is a superlative archetype Malbec. A single varietal (100% malbec) from small select vinyards that follow the "terroir" ideal. Worth every penny. Great character. Full-bodied, fruit forward, plum and berries, oak, and spices. Great balance of fruit, acid, tanins. Great depth with a fantatic finish. Reminicient of a Brunello. Buy this wine when you find it, it's supply is limitted and fleeting at best.
