($27) Bright ruby-red. Aromas of mocha, licorice, violet and cured meat. Sweet dark berry and spice flavors are framed by ripe, juicy acidity, which gives this wine a refreshing character. Finishes firm, with ripe tannins and good length. (A second bottle, which I scored 88, showed a sexy sandalwood quality on the nose but was more reduced and less complex.)
