90(+?) Points | Stephen Tanzer's IWC - July/August 2008

($38; a blend of 70% cabernet sauvignon and 30% cabernet franc) Inky, saturated red. Initially tight nose opens slowly to reveal cassis, cedar, sweet spices and minerals. Rich, uncommonly deep blackcurrant and red cherry flavors are brilliantly delineated by sound acids. This impeccably balanced wine is so graceful that you would never guess it was carrying 14.5% alcohol. Finishes smooth, long and refined-the most classically structured of all of Planeta's reds.
