($100) Pale gold. Explosively aromatic nose combines intense peach, apricot pit and musky yellow plum scents and a high-pitched mineral element. Very fresh and energetic on the palate, showing pure peach and mirabelle flavors along with a tangy minerality. This builds in flavor intensity with aeration without loss of focus or nerve. The finish is extremely long. Christine Vernay suggests serving young Condrieu with foie gras or fish, or holding it for a decade and serving it with truffled dishes.
