2006 Domaine Georges Vernay Condrieu Les Chaillees de L'Enfer

Founder Georges Vernay was responsible for re-planting much of the Condrieu hillside after decades of neglect. His daughter, Christine, now makes concentrated, rich, minerally wines in a similar style, from top-notch holdings of old vines planted on steep south-facing terraces. There's also small production of red wines from Côte Rôtie and St.-Joseph.
