2006 Copain Wine Cellars Roussanne James Berry Vineyard Paso Robles

Having started his wine career at the Wine Spectator's San Francisco office as a tasting coordinator, Wells Guthrie fell in love with Syrah and moved to the northern Rhône.  Two seasons working for Chapoutier  in both the winery and vineyards learning about northern Rhône varietals and biodynamics was a good start.  His education continued when he returned to work at Turley Wine Cellars, spending time in both the vineyards and cellar.  Today, Wells is the full-time owner and winemaker for Copain Wine Cellars. He specializes in making vineyard designated wines primarily from Rhône varietals.
