($60; a blend of 70% white muscat and 30% malvasia) Luminous golden-yellow color. Bright, sweet aromas of citrus fruits, apricot and vanilla, with a white pepper note adding interest. More closed on the palate than other recent vintages and less immediately sweet, but with a nicely refined quality to the sweet, ripe flavors of honeyed tropical fruits. Not at all a sticky-sweet, viscous dessert wine, this one finishes clean and vibrant, with plenty of framing acidity and a complex, lingering mineral component.
