About Ken Forrester Wines
The farm occupied by the Forrester family dates back to the 17th century, but was in a state of disrepair when Ken and his family arrived in 1993. Today, Forrester makes a rich and complex Chenin, with notes of vanilla and honey, as well as an opulent, tropical-fruity late-harvest wine.
2006 Ken Forrester Wines Chenin Blanc Stellenbosch
Producer: Ken Forrester Wines
Style: White Wine
Grape Type: Chenin Blanc
Origin: South Africa
Region: South Africa
89-90 Points | International Wine Cellar , March/April 2007
Pale, green-tinged color. Enticing, riesling-like aromas of soft citrus fruits, lime and minerals, plus a more exotic suggestion of pineapple. Rich, lush and supple, with an enticing sweetess (actually, 3.9 g/l r.s.) to the lime and spice flavors. This boasts excellent density and nerve in an essentially pliant wine. I tasted a final tank sample the day before the bottling.
