($90) Yellow-gold color. Musky pear, apple and tarragon scents are complemented by truffle and dried mushroom; this smells like a Burgundy. Rich and fleshy but focused, displaying precise orchard and pit fruit flavors. A suave underpinning of minerals carries through the long, sappy finish, which leaves baking spices and smoky minerals in its wake. I'd bet on this rewarding at least five or so years of patience. Very impressive.
