($75) Light gold. Suave, mineral-dominated bouquet displays lively notes of lime, mineral and white flowers. Pliant and intensely flavored but not heavy, offering vivid citrus and melon flavors and a late note of saffron. Became more exotic with air, picking up Indian spices and a smoked meat character. An Old World style of chardonnay that's impressively balanced and pure.
