2005 R Wines Cabernet Sauvignon Evil South Eastern Australia
Producer: R Wines
Style: Red Wine
Grape Type: Cabernet Sauvignon
Origin: Australia
Region: Barossa Valley
87 Points | International Wine Cellar , September/October 2007
($8) Ruby-red. Jammy blackberry and plum on the nose, along with a light tarry quality. Fat, round and sweet, with deep, slightly confectionery dark berry flavors, low acidity and no apparent tannins. Finishes with a sweet, clinging dark berry preserve quality and a touch of heat. I would never have guessed this was a cabernet. Simple for sure, but for this style it's a bargain, in a way: many similarly simple, candied, hot-climate Australian reds run over $100.
