How can you give this wine a one star! This wine is the perfect example jammy, unbelievable, deep, explode in your mouth petite syrah. And tell me, which wine did you find better, Bogle??? Please remove your review.
But they don't deliver in New York. Too bad.Not fair
Great stuff! When you squirrel, sniff and sip this wine, you'll be loving its unique taste qualities.
I was really in the mood for a Petite Sirah (we were grilling Elk Backstrap) and thought I would try this wine. I should have known better since the fruit is from Lodi -- where they can only make table wine. The wine had big juicy dark fruit on the nose, but no nuance, the acidity was out of whack and the finish ended abruptly. Will not buy ever again. For those wanting a real Petite Sirah, try Elyse or Stags Leap.
this was awful stuff. that guy capri was right but what he didnt say that this has a terrible bitter finish. avoid.

MARCH/OCT/2009:
Addendum to my review ... (as per iteration in my closing paragraph..)
FOR SPECIFIC TASTING NOTES:
I'v had easily several, several bottles better than this one... I will mention one with a lower price point, and one with a higher price point.. but first..
I must stress that 'petite sirah' is the durif grape varietal and should taste as such.. not this over-extracted "red zin" clone.
If you want red zin, buy a red zin, but this is where I believe most domestic producers go wrong.. don't imitate a red zin for marketing purposes, let the true 'petite sirah' (durif) grape characteristics come through.
OK, onto my suggestions:
The Concannon 2005 was a much better example of petite sirah, even for it's value price point of $15.
An example of a truly ~superb~ Petite Sirah is the 2003 JC Cellars Frediani Vineyards Petite Sirah ($40). Awesome body, not over-oaked, true to the grape, and wonderful, pure balance.
So..E12809688, I still stand by my rating and suggestions, (lodi regardless lol) and I will also still stand by my review. (if you look, I am not the only one who gave this a low score..)
I will also invite you to enjoy your bottle, and your opinion, but it's quite odious for you to claim, especially in a public forum such as this, that I don't hav a right to mine.
Good Luck!
