2005 Harrington Pinot Noir Brosseau Vineyard Chalone

This particular vineyard has always struck us as producing Pinots with distinctive mineral elements, and so again are there notes of stony soil spice to be found here. The wine is a bit tentative in fruit, however, and its rush to ripeness comes at the cost of coarseness and heat. Time may work to smooth out its decidedly rough edges, but we question whether it has the fruity stamina to age into beauty.
