Expert Reviews
70% Cabernet Sauvignon; 20% Merlot; 10% Cabernet Franc. Its upfront smells of cherries, cigar box and sweet oak are those of a claret geared to near-term enjoyment, and the wine follows suit with a slightly supple, nominally tannic palate that is again sweetened by fairly evident oak. It finishing dryness argues against lengthy keeping, and it should be tagged for drinking within four or five years.
Full ruby. Pure, high-pitched aromas of cassis, black cherry and licorice. Juicy, bright and primary, with slightly elevated acids and a hint of greenness but good stuffing. The tannins are smooth and arrive late. Offers a nice combination of cabernet sauvignon structure and merlot flesh. Seems finer than the 2005.
