($45; from Napa and Mendocino fruit; a blend of merlot, cabernets franc and sauvignon, syrah and petit verdot) Medium ruby. Spicy black fruits and tar on the nose. Sweet, lush and seamless, but with good energy to the black fruit and bitter chocolate flavors. Today I see the wine's game-and-pepper syrah side. Finishes juicy and persistent, with a firm spine of acids and tannins.

Nice Bottle
