About Chateau Lafon Rochet
Chateau Lafon-Rochet has always been good. However, since being purchased in 1960 by the Tesseron family (the owners of Pontet-Canet in Pauillac), the wine from this Fourth Growth Bordeaux chateau has been excellent.
2007 Chateau Lafon Rochet Saint Estephe
Producer: Chateau Lafon Rochet
Style: Red Wine
Grape Type: Bordeaux Blend
Origin: France
Region: Bordeaux
Appellation: Saint Estephe
85-88 Points | International Wine Cellar , May/June 2008
(60% cabernet sauvignon, 35% merlot, 3% cabernet franc and 2% petit verdot) Bright ruby-red. Pungent, musky aromas of black cherry, licorice and shoe polish lifted by a violet topnote. Juicy and sweet but also firmly built, with decent purity of fruit but only modest flavor intensity. Finishes with solid tannic spine for the year. Nicely balanced, and very St. Estephe.
