About Chateau Lafite-Rothschild
Chateau Lafite-Rothschild has been sitting at the top of Bordeaux wine lists since the 17th century. Purchased by the Rothschild family in 1868, Lafite has seen it all over the years, from epidemics of phylloxera to German occupation during World War II. Today, Lafite continues to produce some of the finest, and most expensive, wines in the world.
87-89 Points | Stephen Tanzer's IWC - May/June 2009
(51% cabernet sauvignon, 45% merlot, 3% petit verdot and 1% cabernet franc) Medium-deep ruby. Classic Medoc nose of blackcurrant, graphite and cedar is presently a little closed. Enters the mouth full and silky, with bright blackberry and plum flavors and fine-grained tannins. Finishes moderately long and very clean, though just a touch warm.
