($50) Opaque ruby. Red- and blackcurrant aromas, with suave floral, tobacco and spice character adding interest. Fleshy, liqueur-like dark berry flavors are soft and round, with no rough edges or obvious tannins. Turns slightly firmer on the long, velvety finish. Ramey told me that this has a pH of 4.0.

Ramey Napa Cab

This is a very, very good California style cab. The power of the hillside fruit is evident - dark and big but very smooth. Great backbone and grip but with excellent balance of oak and tannin. Nice long finish. A good value under $50 compared to current release Silver Oak, Darioush, and Caymus .
