89 Points | Stephen Tanzer's IWC - November/December 2007
($18; aged in used barriques and bottled in June of 2007) Full red-ruby. Very ripe aromas and flavors of black cherry, dark raspberry, smoke, mocha and espresso, with a suggestion of crystallized fruit. There's a penetrating sweetness here but with classic balancing acidity giving vinosity to this sappy, powerful barbera. Quite fine-grained and long: I'd wait until next spring to pour this.
