($55; 100% monastrell) Deep ruby. Vibrant red berry and cherry aromas are energized by zesty minerality and fresh lavender. Impressively poised wine with energetic red fruit flavors joined by musky licorice and mocha on the close. Tannins are admirably folded into the deep, energetic fruit, adding firmness but not creating a nuisance. Gains a riper dark berry personality with air but not at the expense of clarity.
