95 Points | Stephen Tanzer's IWC - October 2007

(a Bordeaux blend) Bright, fresh ruby color. Heady aromas of black raspberry, licorice, cedar and sandalwood. The palate offers lovely penetrating sweetness and uncanny depth of flavor, with dark raspberry, bitter cherry, cassis, smoke, licorice and cedar flavors at once velvety and firm. Wonderfully focused wine with an extremely long finish that throws off suggestions of char and woodsmoke. There's something almost Lafite-like about this blend, but this is sweeter than claret.
