91-92 Points | International Wine Cellar , November/December 2007

(tasted from a 76-hectoliter oval) Good deep ruby. Primary crushed black fruits and bitter chocolate on the impressively pure nose. Highly concentrated and very ripe in the style of the year but with strong acidity giving it a compellingly juicy character. Penetrating and firmly structured but not hard, with the crushed fruit flavors carrying impressively on the back end. Offers superb potential. Conterno's barbera also comes from the Cascina Francia vineyard in Serralunga.
