($60; 55% chardonnay and 45% pinot noir) Pale gold. Smoky aromas of buttered toast, poached pear, lees and lemon rind, with a subtle floral quality coming up with air. Rich, velvety pit fruit flavors are a touch loose-knit but offer good palate coverage and are complemented by notes of brown butter and bitter lemon. Less lively than the Prestige; this would work well with rich, buttery dishes. (Sherbrooke Cellars, White Plains, NY)
