($125; 84% cabernet franc, 9% cabernet sauvignon and 7% merlot) Ruby-red. Smoky plum and cherry on the nose, with complicating botanical herb and underbrush qualities. A bit tightly wound, with tangy red berry flavors, firm tannins and a dusty finish. The 2005 is a major step up in terms of sheer fruit and freshness.
