($20) Medium ruby with inky highlights. Vinous, almost grapey nose shows elements of black plum, raisin and tobacco. Also a bit raisiny in the mouth, but fleshy and chewy too, with a smoky note on the moderately long finish. You may rate this wine higher if you value sheer palate weight and sweetness over shape and finesse.
