($50; 75% malbec and 25% cabernet sauvignon) Bright, full ruby. Sexy, smoky aromas of currant, licorice, pepper, tobacco leaf and sweet herbs; showing its cabernet side today. Then suave, ripe, pliant and round, with classically dry flavors of currant, spice and pepper. Finishes with sweet tannins and lovely persistence. Here the cabernet dominates the wine's aromas and flavors, while the malbec gives a mouthfilling texture. A very successful blend.
