About Siro Pacenti
Older vintages here often showed overly generous use of oak, but Giancarlo Pacenti has managed to reign in the tannins of his Brunellos. Today, even wines from weaker years such as 2000 are impressively concentrated, silky-smooth and elegant.Expert Reviews
Bright, dark red. Subdued but complex nose offers raspberry, red cherry, rose petal and smoky underbrush; lovely lift and perfume. Sweet and vinous, with excellent energy and cut to the red fruit and floral flavors. Very fine-grained, fresh wine that really transcends the vintage. Finishes with firm but noble tannins and terrific subtle persistence. This was even more brisk with extended aeration, suggesting that it will be better for a bit of patience.
