About Jean-Marc & Hugues Pavelot
Jean-Marc Pavelot, now joined by his son Hughes, maintains what is arguably the top estate in the underappreciated village of Savigny-lès-Beaune...
89-92 Points | International Wine Cellar , March/April 2008
(30% new oak) Good full red. Wild red berries and licorice on the nose, lifted by herbs and pepper. Discreet on the attack, then opens up and spreads out on the back half, showing a spicy sweetness and very good persistence. The biggest and deepest of these young 2006s, conveying an impression of volume without heaviness; this really punches above its class. Finishes with very fine tannins.
