Bright red. Fresh cherry and blackberry on the nose, with a subtle cocoa quality adding complexity. Tangy red and dark berry flavors show good depth and firm structure, becoming racier with aeration. This is pretty tight today, and closes down on the finish. Leaves a pungent mineral note behind and a subtle hint of cracked pepper. A more classic rendition of Beaujolais than the 2005, but without that wine's sweetness, depth or power.
