2006 Domaine/Maison Louis Jadot Chateau des Jacques Moulin-a-Vent

One of the biggest and most recognizable names in Burgundy, this major merchant and vineyard owner was purchased by its American importer, Kobrand, in the mid-1980s. Still, the old reputation for traditionally made, firmly structured wines that require and reward extended cellaring continues to hold. Under the direction of the brilliant enologist Jacques Lardière for more than 25 years, the Jadot wines admirably reflect their individual site character.  Maison Louis Jadot also produces elegant, steely, soil-driven white wines that need time to unwind and gain in flesh and flavor. The malolactic fermentations typically are at least partially blocked to retain acid spine and ensure freshness.
