More About This Wine
About Au Bon Climat
Since it was founded in 1982, Au Bon Climat has been a well respected producer of Burgundian-styled California wines. Jim Clendenen's Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs are mineral, focused and restrained in the early going, and sometimes quite oaky.
2006 Au Bon Climat Pinot Noir La Bauge Au-Dessus Santa Maria Valley
Producer: Au Bon Climat
Style: Red Wine
Grape Type: Pinot Noir
Origin: California
Region: Central Coast
Appellation: Santa Barbara
91 Points | International Wine Cellar , November/December 2008
($35) Vivid red. Spicy redcurrant and cherry aromas are complicated by anise, rose, black tea and minerals. Medium-weight red fruit flavors enter sweet and are quickly firmed by juicy acidity. Silky tannins gain strength with air and extend through the long, sappy finish. Quite graceful, and already drinking very well.
