2007 Schloss Gobelsburg Riesling Gobelsburger

Formerly owned and managed by monks, Schloss Gobelsburg had been drifting before Michael Moosbrugger (with the support of Willi Bründlmayer) began to lease the estate. The land here had always been excellent, but the winemaking was inconsistent. That's since changed. Moosbrugge's wines are polished and precise, and they finally do justice to the many choice vineyards here. In addition to the usual suspects (Riesling and Grüner Veltliner), there are wonderful reds, sparkling wines, and dessert wines.
