About Maison Chapoutier
Maison Chapoutier, the first négociant and producer to mark their bottlings with braille, was established in 1879 by Polydor Chapoutier. The business has remained family owned since then and is now run by Michel Chapoutier. His hands off approach to winemaking has lead to a resurgence in quality at Maison Chapoutier, which now produces some of the finest wines in the Rhone region of France.

($210) Opaque ruby. Sexy, expansive aromas of raspberry and cherry pie, star anise and cola. Sweet and silky in texture, with palate-staining red fruit flavors and sweet oak spiciness. A floral quality comes up with aeration and lingers on the sappy, impressively long finish. Extremely seductive and approachable now, especially with a little time in a decanter.
