Expert Reviews
Good deep ruby-red. Very fresh aromas of cassis and black cherry. Juicy, firm and penetrating; powerfully built but with strong, vibrant dark fruit and licorice flavors. A big, chocolatey dolcetto with the alcoholic richness of this vintage. "Our dolcetto always has broad shoulders," notes Clerico, who considers 2006 to be outstanding for dolcetto and not atypical. Primary and secondary fermentation of this wine takes place in stainless steel, but the wine sees five or six months in used barrels.
